Dimension stone is one of the oldest building materials known to man; evidence the Pyramids, the Sphynx and the ancient structures of Rome. Dimension stone is natural stone that is cut and shaped to a specific size. It is used for structural or decorative purposes. Graymont is the operator of one of the oldest dimension stone quarries in the province of Quebec. Material from Graymont's St-Marc-des-Carrieres Quarry was used to build the beautiful structures in Quebec City, including the Chateau Frontenac and the Parliament building.
