Graymont Announces New Lime Production Investment in Victoria

April 4, 2025, Sydney, Australia — Graymont today confirmed that it is proceeding with the investment to expand its operations in Victoria, Australia to meet the needs of its growing customer base. The investment will enable increased local production of lime which is a critical input for industries including construction, mining, and agriculture.

The Traralgon Upgrade Project will materially increase the capacity of Graymont’s existing lime plant in Traralgon, Victoria, and will be fully operational in early 2027. The project will also expand operations at Graymont’s associated limestone quarry in Buchan, Victoria.

Graymont CEO Stéphane Godin stated, “The Traralgon Upgrade Project demonstrates Graymont’s long-term commitment to our customers in southeastern Australia. This investment will strengthen our ability to reliably supply essential calcium-based materials, ensuring long-term benefits for regional industries and communities.”

Graymont has been working extensively with residents, councils, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the best integration of the project into the local environment. Graymont will continue to engage as it progresses in the implementation phases of the project.

The Company has also acquired land and commenced constructing a new purpose-built Logistics Terminal in Melbourne to expand its supply network in Victoria. Strategically located in Laverton, the facility is expected to be fully operational during the second half of 2025.
