Graymont Western Canada Inc. is pleased to announce an agreement with the Athabasca Northern Railway (ANR) for a new lime transload terminal site just south of Fort McMurray, AB. This agreement provides Graymont with the rights to sufficient property for a full service lime transload terminal facility. This facility will efficiently transfer quicklime, limestone and other related products from railcar to truck for local delivery to customers in the region.
Graymont Materials continues to expand its profit centers by adding Redi-Rock, the largest and most popular retaining wall system in North America, to its arsenal of products.
Graymont (PA) Inc. publicly launched a new state-of-the-art Lime Kiln at its Pleasant Gap Plant today and positioned itself for another 50 years of lime production in Centre County.
“The $69 million investment in this new kiln provides the opportunity to keep about 200 direct and indirect jobs in this region,” said Plant Manager Marc Messenger.
The company officially unveiled the new kiln at a dedication ceremony attended by employees, project partners, plant neighbors, government officials and elected representatives.
Graymont’s Exshaw plant and employees, in particular Steve Czank, have been commended for providing assistance during a potentially dangerous flooding situation near the town of Exshaw. A front-end loader and operator were provided to assist in battling collapse of the banks of Jura Creek and assistance was offered to rebuild the banks.

Ts’kw’aylaxw First Nation today signed new leases that will permit Graymont Western Canada Inc. to continue its limestone mining and processing operation on Ts’kw’aylaxw Indian reserves until 2045.
Graymont has operated its limestone quarry and processing plant on Ts’kw’aylaxw lands since 1974 and is the only mining operation on an Indian reserve in all of Canada. The mine is located in Marble Canyon on Highway 99 between Lillooet and Cache Creek.
