Dignitaries from the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec, the Regional Municipality of Brome-Missisquoi (MRC), the Town of Bedford, Bedford Township and Stanbridge Station today joined Graymont representatives and employees to celebrate the official launch of the Bedford Heritage Project, an innovative initiative that will ensure the long-term operations of one of the largest employers in the region.
Graymont today confirmed that it has completed the transaction to sell its New York Materials business to Upstone Materials, Inc., a member of the Barrett Industries Group, a leader in the paving, aggregates and construction sectors.
The New York Materials business is focused on providing construction stone, sand and gravel, asphalt products and ready-mix concrete to meet infrastructure and general construction needs in the region

Green Bay, Wisconsin, April 4th, 2017 – Faced with continuing soft market conditions that have impacted the entire North American lime industry, Graymont announced today that it will idle the lime kiln operations at its Green Bay facility in Wisconsin, effective June 1st, 2017.
The Great Lakes market will continue to be fully supplied by other lime plants in the Company’s network while the Green Bay facility will be converted into a bulk hydrate and terminal operation.
Richmond, BC, December 21st, 2016 – Graymont announced today that an Environmental Assessment (EA) Certificate has been issued for the proposed lime plant and quarry operation to be constructed near Giscome, BC in the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George.
“We welcome the issuance of the EA Certificate, which enables us to continue advancing this strategically important project,” stated Graymont President and Chief Executive Officer Stéphane Godin, noting that the new plant is designed to ensure a long-term supply of lime to mines and other vital industries in the North.
Bedford, QC, September 1st, 2016 – Graymont announced today that agreements have been concluded with all three municipalities involved with the Bedford Heritage Project, a crucial step in the realization of a unique initiative that will help ensure the continuing long term operation of one of the largest employers in the region.
Richmond, BC, April 22, 2016 – Faced with continuing soft market conditions that have impacted the entire lime industry, Graymont announced today that it will indefinitely idle its Pavilion lime plant and quarry, located near Lillooet, British Columbia, effective June 30, 2016.
