Hydrated Lime

Hydrated lime Ca(OH)2 is a dry powder produced by combining quicklime with a sufficient amount of water to satisfy quicklime's natural affinity for moisture.

Hydrated lime is a versatile product and can be used as a powder in mixtures or to form a suspension or slurry which is often pumped to multiple process locations within industrial plants.

Hydrated lime is used in a variety of industrial applications including as an anti-stripping agent in asphalt, brine manufacture for food processing, as a binder to stabilize soils, to neutralize odours in biosolids and as a component of some mortars and plasters.

It is also increasingly being used in environmental applications such as water discharge treatment and flue gas treatment. Hydrated lime is also commonly used as a slurry in the mining sector for ore treatment, coagulation, flotation, acid mine drainage correction and sludge treatment.

In some cases, hydrated lime is used in agriculture to lift the pH of soils under controlled conditions.

Hydrated lime products are available in a wide range of grades including high calcium, enhanced hydrate, dolomitic, food grade, lubricant grade and in some cases as blends.
