Havelock

Graymont's plant in the small community of Havelock, New Brunswick is the leading supplier of lime and limestone products throughout the Atlantic region market, which includes Canada's Maritime Provinces as well as the State of Maine. The Havelock plant utilizes a Beckenback annular shaft kiln to produce high-quality lime for a varied customer base.

Graymont is constantly seeking ways to add value by leveraging the Company's own resources in combination with other natural resources and economic sectors in a given area. At Havelock, extensive field research led to the successful introduction into the farming community of the first new agricultural liming material in more than 50 years. Hydra-Lime+ provides financial returns to the farmer two to three times greater than conventional liming practices by producing higher yields with superior quality tubers. It is this type of innovation that helps make Graymont the ag-lime leader in the Atlantic Region.

The Superior plant, located on the Lake Superior waterfront in Superior, Wisconsin, is ideally positioned to service the upper Midwestern states and central Canada.

Limestone is not quarried at this site; it comes from quarries in Michigan and is transported by self-unloading bulk freighters to the Superior dock. Finished product is shipped out by truck and rail, often providing return loads for overland carriers who have dropped off commodities for shipping out of the port.

Three types of limestone are calcined at the Superior facility to produce high calcium quicklime, high-calcium hydrated lime, dolomitic quicklime and PCC quicklime. The newest addition to the plant is kiln #5, a state of the art, high-efficiency preheater lime kiln.

In addition to calcined lime products, the plant is also a major supplier of finely ground limestone utilized by various mining and manufacturing customers throughout the Midwest.

Genoa

Graymont Dolime (OH) Inc. is located in Genoa, Ohio, where a heavy strata of pure Niagara Dolomite lies close to the surface of the ground. The quality of the Genoa deposit makes it one of the select areas of the world for the production of lime for plastering applications due to its high chemical purity, excellent water retention and white color.

Graymont Dolime (OH) Inc. produces quicklime and hydrated lime for a wide variety of markets throughout the eastern United States and Canada. The company's product lines are characterized by strong brand names, including Ivory® Finishing Lime, Bondcrete® Mason's and Stucco Lime, Super® Limoid Mason's Lime, Kemidol® industrial products and Niagara® Lime Putty. Graymont Dolime's specialty product focus requires excellent customer support for both construction and industrial applications.

The Genoa facility is one of the largest dolomitic lime hydration facilities in the United States. The current plant consists of limestone rock processing, calcining, hydration, blending and packaging departments. Three rotary kilns burn sized limestone rock to produce dolomitic quicklime products with excellent reactivity. This quicklime is used either as an industrial product or as a raw material for the hydration processes. The hydration plant consists of two hydrators that operate under atmospheric pressure and three autoclave processes. Atmospheric hydration produces Type N hydrated lime products for use in industrial and agricultural applications. Hydration under high pressure in the autoclaves produces unique Type S hydrated lime for building and industrial applications. The blending department produces packaged blends of cement and lime for masonry and other applications. Two automatic packaging lines fill and palletize 10, 25 and 50 lb. bags for customer delivery.
